Designing for Impact: Your toolkit to break down any brief
Come ready to dismantle your regular approaches and forge forward with more impact. In small groups, you'll move through a structured framework — mapping the assumptions baked into your current approach and finding new opportunities to engage the right people and create more impact from the same brief.
Working from macro (how might this truly benefit people and planet?) to micro (what's missing, what needs to change?), you'll encounter provocations and alternative methods that challenge how you're thinking.
If Athalia's talk ‘why designers need to look in different rooms’, the workshop provides a vetted framework to do that. Attendees will learn theory and instantly apply it to projects they’re already working on. The impact framework and provocations will guide thinking, uncover assumptions and identify opportunities to amplify impact for people and our planet. The workshop puts into practice the talk's core invitation: that disrupting your own thinking and inviting the right voices into the process isn't a threat to creativity, it's the engine of it.
You'll leave with a reframed brief, identified blind spots, opportunities to explore with community and stakeholders, and a framework you can replicate on any future project.
