Relational Design Lab: Practising Care With Intelligent Systems

This workshop is a collaborative lab for designers navigating the realities of working alongside AI. It focuses on making relationships visible by mapping how people, frameworks and technologies shape each other over time.

In this workshop, Wahlin and Kaur guide participants through reflective and practical exercises that surface how care, ethics and awareness can be designed into familiar models. Participants remix existing frameworks to include designer wellbeing, system awareness and more-than-human agency, treating relationship itself as a design material.

Attendees leave with new relational scaffolds, shared language and practical sensibilities for designing in complex, adaptive systems. The outcome is not a single method, but a deeper capacity to stay present, ethical and creative within evolving human and technological relationships.
